TRIBUTE TO AMELIA EARHART AT FLOYD BENNETT AIRPORT. A service of tribute to Amelia Earhart, the American airwoman who was lost on a flight across the Pacific, took place at Floyd Bennett airport, New York, starting point of many notable record flights. The ceremony had been organised by the New York City branch of the Women’s International association of Aeronautics. Photo Shows: the grandstand at the service.
