FLM 1082. "Down at sea" work of the British Air-Sea Rescue Service. The British Air-Sea Rescue Service, controlled by the Directorate-General of Aircraft safety in the Air Ministry, has four major aims: (1) the airmen must be provided with the means of remaining on the surface of the sea; (2) he must be able to keep himself alive while in that situation. (3) He must be found when forced down at sea. (4) He must be brought safely to land. Photo shows: An R.A.F. pilot afloat in his dinghy after alighting on the sea in his parachute. FLM 1082.
