Crippled 'plane's pilot faces death for four hours. With an undercarriage swinging about in the slipstream of his propeller, nineteen-year-old Pilot Sergeant C.G.T. Tucker, of the Tangmere, R.A.F. Station, circled about the landing field to-day for four hours waiting for his petrol tank to run dry before he faced an even-money chance of crashing to death. A few seconds later he side-slipped to the landing fiels, where his 'plane struck the grass and overturned. Sergeant Tucker crawled out from the wreckage. He was immediately sent up again to recover his nerve. Photo shows: The 'plane flying round the landing field. [..?..] [Sipho]
