HICKSVILLE, L.I.-Numerous wealthy aviation enthusiasts took off today from the Long Island Aviation Country Club, Hicksville, L.I., on their cross country air derby to the National Air Races in Cleveland, Ohio. The winner of the derby will be presented with a silver cup donated by Charles L. Lawrence, President of the Aeronautical Chamber of Commerce. About twenty-five amateur pilots took off.
