WATCH YOUR CREDIT LINE: PHOTO FROM WIDE WORLD PHOTOS: 687682---THREE ELECTROCUTED AS PLANE CRASHES. - YPSILANTI, MICH. ---A passenger, airport head and a bystander were killed in one of the most peculiar accidents in the history of aviation, when a plane struck a telephone pole at Ypsilanti, Mich., careened across a roadway and struck a high tension electric wire carrying 4.800 volts. The tail of the plane caught on one of the wires and ship nosed to the ground, coming in contact with a wire fence and forming a perfect circuit. Levi Keppler, the passenger, was instantly killed when he touched the metallic parts of the ship Harry Walters, airport head, instantly killed when he turned the stream from a fire extinguisher on the flames and Willard Clawson, a farmer, was electrocuted when he seized Walters by the feet and attempted to drag him out of the danger zone.- The pilot escaped by jumping before the crash.- Photo shows a view of the wreck of the plane. 4/15/30 [Wide World Photos] [Actualit]
