WIDE WORLD VIENNA bureau - SIB 4344 THE NEW HUNGARIAN EXECUTIONEERS FIRST VICTIMS : GHASTLY SCENES AT THE DOUBLE EXECUTION OF GUSTAV KAVA AND JOSEF SZTANISZLAVSKY; BUDAPEST, Hungary. Gustav Kava and Josef Sztaniszlavsku, who had murdered and robbed the innkeeper Lukacs were hanged in Budapest in the Military Prison in the presence of about 300 persons. The executions were carried out by the newly appointed hungarian executioneer Johan Kovas, who was a former prison-warder. It was reported that he was rather nervous carrying out his task during the first execution, the second one was carried through without unnecessary delay.
