MIAMI, FLA.-The wreckage of the plane in which Dale (Red) Jackson, co-holder of the world’s endurance airplane record, was killed while stunting over the municipal airport at Miami, Fla. The amphibian which he was piloting fell 2.000 feet to the ground when the wings gave under the strain put upon them when he attempted to straighten the ship out after a dive. When Jackson’s body was taken out of the plane his right hand was clutched in the ring of his parachute cord which indicated that he attempted to jump but failed. Jackson, a resident of St. Louis, arrived in Miami a few days ago to seek new flying honors at the All-American air races which opened today.
